Hotspot and Bottleneck Analysis in Oracle Coherence

Would you like your Coherence clusters to perform well in production? We all know the cluster needs enough resources in terms of memory, CPU and network bandwidth. These requirements are well understood.  So why should you care about hotspots or bottlenecks? These issues are harder to fix because adding more resources is rarely the answer. Everett Williams, SL’s Senior Director of Technology, showed how SL Corp’s RTView Oracle Coherence Monitor can help you literally “see” a hotspot. In this practical session, Everett discussed Coherence’s service architecture and how the service MBean data can be used to find latency, queuing and contention in Coherence ? conditions that can degrade performance and prevent your cluster workload from scaling. He also discussed typical causes of poor performance and possible solutions.

Monitoring of Web Applications and GlassFish for Performance and Availability ? a Parleys.com use Case

Stephan Janssen ? Founder of Parleys.com, BeJUG and Devoxx ? shared his experience in monitoring of their web application infrastructure using the RTView platform. Learn how the Parleys team was able to get better visibility into potential performance hotspots in their web applications from monitoring their GlassFish application servers  and associated JVM processes resulting in better user responsiveness on the Parleys.com website.
Tom Lubinski, the Founder and CTO of SL, discussed how RTView helps application support and operation teams uncover bottlenecks and performance issues reducing their overall support costs and resources to maintain operations. An overview of the product architecture, solution offerings and use cases was discussed.

RTView for TIBCO EMS Monitor Webinar

SL’s Mark Bloomberg and Gopi Parimi provided an overview and demonstrated the RTView for TIBCO EMS Monitor. The presentation provides an overview of the RTView for TIBCO product and what is new in the EMS Monitor. The presentation also includes an overview of the RTView architecture and some examples of customer uses. A demonstration of the EMS Monitor is provided by Gopi Parimi.

California Progress Users Group Meeting

SL’s Mark Bloomberg spoke at the upcoming California Progress User Group Meeting on “Building Dashboards for Apama and Monitoring Progress RPM.” Progress user group meetings are a great way to see updates from Progress Software, spend time with Progress experts and share knowledge with other Progress users.

SL’s Mark Bloomberg and Gopi Parimi provided an overview and demonstrated  RTView for TIBCO BusinessWorks Monitor in a 30-minute demonstration. The presentation provided  an overview of the RTView for TIBCO platform and BusinessWorks monitor solution. A demonstration of the RTView for TIBCO BusinessWorks Monitor and a discussion regarding current and upcoming product enhancements. The RTView for TIBCO BW monitor provides centralized real-time and historical performance metrics across all your BW servers, engines, processes and activities to better understand the health-state of your BW processes.
